For the last several years, I have heard people complaining about things in their neighborhood. There are lots of things that they complain about, but here are the two major things; schools and the crime rate. Let me break this down to you why these things are not working.
Schools: The complaints I have heard in the last several months are that the schools are in bad conditions and the teachers are not doing their jobs. So the people of these communities say that the local and Federal Governments are not doing anything to help. Well here is what I have to say to those people who are doing the complaining; when was the last time you spoke to your child or children teachers and ask them how you can help them to make their jobs a lot easier? Most of you give the teacher a hard time when they are trying to do their job teaching your kids. What have you done to help out these schools that you are complaining about?
When was the last time you coordinated a fund raiser for the school? All this time that you are complaining, you could have coordinated a bake sale, or coordinated a team of volunteers to help paint the schools or cut the grass or fix things that needed to be fixed. But no, it is easier for you to complain, and talk bad about your local Government. So if you are not doing anything to solve this situation, then why should the Government solve it for you? If you want the Government to do their part, do your part first.
Crime Rate: This is the other thing that you have complained about. People are selling drugs on your corner, there is a crack house on your street and you see people coming and going at all times of the night and people are getting shot and killed on your street. You call the police and complain every time, but when the police come to your house to ask you questions about the things going on in your neighborhood, you say that you have don’t want to get involved or you don’t know anything, or you are not a snitch.
How can the police do their jobs if you are not willing to do your part? But you want them to help you? You don’t want to be a witness or testify, but you are very voice full when it comes to talking bad about the police. Here is a question for you; when was the last time you started a neighborhood watch. I bet you don’t know who your neighbors are. But when someone in your family gets killed or raped then you want everybody to help you. Then you want the world to come to your rescue. Remember, this is your community. Stop complaining and get involved and take your community back. Because if your community is not that important enough for you to get involved, or to snitch, then why should the Police or Local/Federal Government help you?
